Does tar.gz/zip of JBoss 4.0.5GA release contain EJB3? I have used installer to install EJB3 profile.

No the tar.gz/zip release does not contain the EJB3 profile, it is just the vanilla 4.0.5 app server.

If you want to use the ejb3 profile then you must build the app server from source

- download the 4.0.5 src
- build the app server using jdk1.5
- configure the build/output/jboss-4.0.5.GA-ejb3 as per the JBossTS INSTALL document

So you are saying that JBoss 4.0.5GA with EJB3 is only supported with JBossTS by compiling it from sources? Not using installer?

No. Only the vanilla 4.0.5 is supported, as explicitly stated in the INSTALL guide. The installer version is not yet supported as it has not been validated.

If you wish to use EJB3 then you must build it from source to obtain certain fixes not yet included in the installer.

Please remember that the installer is currently BETA and that it has a release schedule which is different to the App Server schedule (necessarily so).

I am currently talking with the installer team so that we can have a version which is also validated with JBossTS.
