rich:modalPanel closecontrol action

It is possible to call a action when someone clicked the close control in the top right of a modalpanel? I want to write some data into a database when a modal panel get closed by a user.

you could use jsFunction placed to the body form of output panel. So you will call the function from closure control and execute panel hide on oncomplete.

sure because there is no form around the control.
remove support from your image. then add onclick="callSave()" to the image itself.

And define a4j:jsFunction name="callSave" oncomplete="javascript:Richfaces.hideModalPanel('mp')" inside the panel body form.
