    JBoss AS 4.2.2 and JTS

    hunchie

      My situation:

      JBoss AS 4.2.2
      Oracle 10g
      JBossTS 4.2.3.SP7

I am trying to run a transaction that spans two JBoss 4.2.2 AS instances. I fooled around with JBossTS 4.2.3.SP7 for about a day. I know the version page says JTS is not supported in JBoss AS 4.2.x but I thought what wtf give it a shot. I based my install in the instructions provided for AS 4.0.5, looked at the documentation a lot, anyway no luck.

Is there any way to make this work under AS 4.2.2? Or even 4.2.x? If so can you point me to any examples, the examples from the 4.2.3 JBossTS doc were not working for me.

      Any help would be appreciated,

      MJ

Sure, just send me a large envelope full of unmarked, non-sequential 20 pound notes and I'll sort it out.

Seriously, if we say it does not work that is probably because, guess what, IT DOES NOT WORK.

That said, certain use cases can be made to work, if you happen to be willing to sacrifice your sanity and firstborn child. You will probably need to wait for the next full moon though, by which time JBossAS 5.0.0.CR2 + JBossTS 4.4.0.GA may present a better alternative anyhow.
