RichFaces and RTL

Hi,

i have been evaluating richfaces for two weeks or more, plus many other JSF extended frameworks, i really like the richfaces way of handling Ajax plus the components library, any way my comment here is regarding the RichFaces support for the "RTL" languages ... i have gone through alot of issues on that regards, most of the richfaces components either does not support or has bugs on this issue.

i know most of these issue can be solved by the developer him self. but how lovely would it be having things working exactly like they are supposed to without having to tweak things stright.

Sure Nick I will, but for the time being I would like to highly encourage you having a simple page with an “rtl” body direction and try the very basic sample of the following components and see for yourself how the design (which sometimes effect the functionality) is corrupted:

-          <rich:fileUpload>

-          <rich:extendedDataTable>

-          <rich:panelBar>

-          <rich:simpleTogglePanel>

The list is much bigger but I guess testing the aforemensioned components will put us on the same page of the issue.

Here is what we have for now. Please add issues you getting also as Nick suggested. Unfortunatelly most of them seems will be adressed in 4.x branch because only stabilization work without redesigning markups and addition of some new functionality is planned to 3.3.x currently.

Thanks ... ill post them any way, but my point was to raise the issue of RTL in general not on a certain component, cause richfaces really seems unrobust to me when dealing with RTL ... but to be fair i could not just dump it looking for other componet set cause it ROCKS !

Fully agreed and will update our wiki planning and design pages to include this.
