1. Re: How to redirect System.out.println to a text area use Richfaces or JSF ?
nbelaevski Dec 23, 2009 4:43 PM (in response to charlesyang)Hi Charles,
Use either a4j:poll or a4j:push components to update component containing application logs.
BTW, example of similar task implemented: https://community.jboss.org/wiki/SimpleIRCWidgetwitha4jpush

2. Re: How to redirect System.out.println to a text area use Richfaces or JSF ?
charlesyang Dec 23, 2009 5:49 PM (in response to nbelaevski)Thanks Nick, it works by using a4j:poll and getting a StringBuffer (or builder) content from the server. I am using the Richfaces modal componet to show the log screen. When the first time is done, I disabled the poll. But the second time , the poll can not get stated when I set "enabled="#{backbean.enablePoll}" to true in the backbean just before the function starts. It seems this enabled thing needs to be set before the modal part to get called. I need to figure out how to do that to avoid the poll always running. Thanks again. -
