Commenting out code in .xhtml?

I use following synatx code to comment out the code-

<!-- this is the right way to comment -->

But I do still see sometimes, recieving error because of the commeted code. Or sometimes the commented code do work.

Can you please let me know your experince, commenting your code does cause any problem ?

If you use facelets you must put

  <context-param>
    <param-name>facelets.SKIP_COMMENTS</param-name>
    <param-value>true</param-value>
  </context-param>
in your web.xml file.

There is a special <ui:remove> tag for this.

As now i am using

And I have commented out the code in .xhtml using <!-- -->

Still I need to use the ui:remove tag ?

You can use any of two solutions. ui:remove is a special tag for commenting parts of Facelets view source file. There are situations when you want comments to be rendered to the browser, so you'll use ui:remove then.
