Apache httpd vs. JBoss Web Server

Hi,

we plan to release a JSR168-application on EPP 5, i.e. based on a JBoss AS 5.x-server.

The question is how to serve static content, via built in JBoss Web Server or via Apache httpd?

Can anyone help with pros and cons?

I've read, that JBoss Web Server with APR should be as fast as Apache httpd. Is this true?

If we use Apache httpd, should we use the HTTP or AJP-protocol to communicate with the JBoss AS?

Any hints are really appreciated.

The AJP Connector element represents a   Connector component that communicates with a web   connector via the AJP protocol.

many users will use your application?

Is you have many users i suggest of to work with apache for the files static else can to work  quietly with Jboss.

Hi,

we will have few users in the beginning, I think a realistic maximum will be 2000 users. Hard to guess how many concurrently accesses there will be.
