Support for portlets is not currently in the plans for JSFUnit. It's a fairly frequent request but it would require quite a bit of time and effort. Unless someone in the community steps forward to work on it then I don't see portlet support happening any time soon.

JSFUnit will not work with portlets. If you can run your app outside the portal as a stand-alone JSF application then you can use JSFUnit to test it.
