ips Feb 1, 2010 1:43 PM (in response to tall_male)That's not currently supported by the apache plugin, but it would certainly be a nice enhancement.

tall_male Feb 1, 2010 4:44 PM (in response to ips)It would...!
Too bad that also Number of Concurrent Connections shows "No Metric Data Available". Is something misconfigured or am I missing something....?
I'm really missing this information.

3. Re: Monitoring Apache2
ips Feb 1, 2010 5:43 PM (in response to tall_male)You won't be able to collect that metric or any other metrics without the SNMP Apache module. The SNMP module is included with the JBoss Operations Network (JON) product, but unfortunately cannot be released in either binary or source from as part of RHQ/Jopr due to licensing restrictions.

4. Re: Monitoring Apache2
tall_male Feb 2, 2010 11:21 AM (in response to ips)Surprise, I found the snmp-module source code can be downloaded from http://svn.hyperic.org/projects/hq/trunk. (svn co http://svn.hyperic.org/projects/hq/trunk hyperic-hq)
I compiled the modules as described on http://www.jopr.org/display/JOPR2/Apache+2.x+SNMP+Config and YES, it does work. apache now gives tons of information (test on CentOS 5.2 32 bit)
Seems quite nice, but I (my company) does not want to break any license issues... Okay, this solution gives no warranty, but is it leglly okay....? Anyone knows about this solution?

5. Re: Monitoring Apache2
mazz Feb 2, 2010 11:34 AM (in response to tall_male)I don't see any problems with licensing in that scenario. Everything is open source including that source you found, so you should be fine.
Why don't you post the build and install instructions for what you did in case others would like this (I know others have asked about this in the past - would be helpful). Nothing in great detail, just list the steps you performed.
