1. Re: JBoss 5.1.0 (community edition)
ips Feb 19, 2010 6:37 PM (in response to tall_male)I would suggest using AS 6.0.0.M2 (just released a couple days ago) instead. It is supported by RHQ/Jopr and contains a whole bunch of bug fixes, new features, and upgraded spec impls beyond what 5.1.0 includes.
However, if you really are set on using 5.1.0, there was a recent post to this forum where I helped someone get discovery and management of AS 5.1.0 *partially* working using the jboss-as (4.x) plugin.

2. Re: JBoss 5.1.0 (community edition)
tall_male Feb 21, 2010 11:21 AM (in response to ips)Too bad for JBoss 5.1.0-GA.
I tried JBoss 6 today. However, it is not recognised automaticly. Trying to add it manually gives:
The Agent was unable to connect to the ResourceType[id=10035, category=Server, name=JBossAS Server, plugin=JBossAS] managed resource using the supplied connection properties. Please check that the connection properties are correct and that the managed resource on the agent machine is online. Cause: java.lang.Exception:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/jboss/logging/Logger -> java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:org/jboss/logging/Logger -> java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:org.jboss.logging.Logger
This looks quite the same adding JBoss 5.1.0-GA

3. Re: JBoss 5.1.0 (community edition)
ips Feb 22, 2010 7:51 AM (in response to tall_male)What version of RHQ or Jopr are you using? If you are not using the latest release of RHQ (currently 3.0.0.B02), please try with that. Note, 3.0.0.B03 should be released in the next few days.

5. Re: JBoss 5.1.0 (community edition)
tall_male Feb 22, 2010 9:39 AM (in response to tall_male)I tried the new beta 3.0.0.B02, but a JBoss plugin is still missing, so no JBoss6....
I tried to add a JMX, but no success. (no errors either) I guess I'll have to wait for the next beta.
Besides this, I allready like the new beta. Te virtualization plugin is actually working which actually gives me a Web-GUI for KVM. I tried that one on Ubuntu 9.10 and worked out of the box!

7. Re: JBoss 5.1.0 (community edition)
ips Feb 22, 2010 10:34 AM (in response to tall_male)The jboss-as-5 plugin is definitely included with 3.0.0.B03 (you can see the plugin jarfile under /rhq-server-3.0.0.B03/jbossas/server/default/deploy/rhq.ear.rej/rhq-downloads/rhq-plugins/). I think there was an issue with 3.0.0.B02 when upgrading from an ealier version of RHQ or Jopr, where the jboss-as-5 plugin was not updated because it had an older version number; this issue is fixed in 3.0.0.B03.
