peterj Mar 3, 2010 1:45 PM (in response to rohit.macherla)The name of the log file is governed by log4j and I know of no way to configure log4j to use a different naming patern for its rotated log files. Just now checked the source - Log4J appends the date string to the original file name, there is option to generate a different name. You could always edit the daily file appender source (it's the rollOver() method) to generate the files using the naming convention that you prefer. -

dmlloyd Mar 3, 2010 1:55 PM (in response to peterj)I know it's no consolation, but in AS 6.0.0.M2 and later (which no longer uses log4j), changing the data pattern actually changes the file name so all you have to do is stick .log on the end of it.
