HA Live/Backup Pair by Replication Shutdown/Restart Sequence

Hi,

I setup a Live/Backup Pair using Replication.

My question is what is the correct shutdown/restart sequence.

I would think it is:

1. Shutdown Live server (stop new messages publication/consumsion)

2. Shutdown Backup server

3. Start Backup server

4. Start Live server

However, I get the "data differs" error if I did the above.

Does it mean that the live data store has to be synced to the backup data store for each restart?

At the present you have always to sync the backup and live before startup.

That's something we are working on improving for 2.2.0

If the hornetq is embedded in JBoss 4.2.3 clusters, how do we sync this?

Do both JBoss instances have to be down?

Leads me off-topic with wondering how an active-active JBoss works with a hornetq live-backup HA arrangement built in... if this can even be done.
