no, timestamp is always stored in the revision info table. And that's usually want you want, as this enables you to version relations.
And the timestamp can be always retrieved by navigation from the revision info id in the _AUD table.

(My motivation was the same as others who wanted start and end date timestamp on the row to simplify querying by date.)
