    Cannot open jmx-console

I call up the Jboss admin page http://localhost:8080 and then open the  "jmx-console" or web-console. It works.

But after I set the security for the jmx-console and web-console I can't open the jmx-console and web-console any more. What I see is a blank page. Normally a pop-up dialog for user name and password should be shown.

What I did is simply take out the commends in jboss-web.xml and web.xml as described in Jboss documents such as "http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/getting_started/v4/html/tour.html".

I did the same by another JBoss AS and it works.

      What could be the reason?

          Which version of JBoss AS?

Do you see any errors in the server.log or the console? Also, which browser are you using? Try clearing the cookies and see if it makes a difference.

I cleared the cockies and cache and tried both IE and FF. It's the same, i.g. a blank page is shown. There is nothing written to the server.log.

As asked in the previous reply, which version of JBoss AS do you use?

The version of Jboss AS is 4.3.0.GA_CP02 and it is installed on RHEL 4 (RedHat Linux).

The stranger is, there are 3 Jboss AS instances installed on this Linux machine. One of them has no such problem. I think there is anywhere difference/mistake by the configuration. But I can't tell where is this difference since the Jboss AS installation was not done by me.
