Can auto-discovery and import actions be automated

We aim to deploy the RHQ servers and agents in a completely automated way. Our custom made installers modify the servers and agents configuration files prior to installation. So installation is seamless and does not require human interaction.

Can the same be done in any way with the auto-discovery process with the import process, assuming we know exactly which servers and services we want to monitor?

You can use the CLI and a custom script, or a remote Java client that you write, to do this. Search the forums and the like , I'm pretty sure people have  posted sample CLI scripts that auto-import things.
