ExtendedDataTable cellpadding cellspacing not applying to headers

I am using the extendeddatatable to replace one of our old regular tomahawk jsf tables.  For readability issues we have

cellspacing="2"
cellpadding="4"

defined on the table.  The problem is that these do not seem to apply to the headers of the table.  This results in the headers and regular columns to not line up.  Has anyone else seen this or found a way around it, short of taking those attributes out?

I will check the issue in order to rise an issue if confirmed but as quick workaround - could propose you to define margins and paddings useng rich-* css classes.
