4.0.0.Alpha2 Status Update and Jira Review

We need to get a handle on the jira issues for Alpha2, and determine a final code freeze.

Each person with jira's assigned to Alpha2 in both RF and RFPL should add a post to this thread, that:

- Review what jira's are outstanding

- Ones that your think can shift to M1

- Any issues that need to be discussed.

Then when you feel you will be able to complete the assigned the jiras.  I'm looking for a date, or date range. 

Please follow the format that I use so that we maintain a common layout.  Also if your component does not have a jira component assigned please add one.

Based on my other workload, and the tasks above that can wait for release I believe I could be ready for code freeze around May 17th - May 21st.  This is assuming that some of the RFPL tasks can be post code freeze.

     RF-7875 dataTable client-side API - in progress.

     RF-7827 a4j:ajax: add support for action/actionListener. - not started yet

     RF-7858 sorting/filtering/paging data models -  need to be discussed. There are no separate models for the sorting and filtering now. Supports for these features is provided by ArrangeableModel which wraps ExtendedDataModel. I don't understand the need of creating separate paging datamodel. End developer could implement it using our Extended or Arrangable datamodel as a base. So I think we should close this issue as ''Out of Date".

     RF-8518 datascroller: skinning. - almost done. Need to generate and apply gradient images.

     RF-7886 skinning DataTable  - not started yet.

     RF-8478 develop paging unit tests - not started yet.

     RF-8485 develop dev sample for DataScroller - I use datascroller in DataTable dev sample should it will be enough or  we need to create  a separate.

     RF-1870 need to allow for single set of headers with datatable and embedded datatable - need to be discussed additionally for the next reasons, this could be already implemented with current functionality, second adding such functionality to the subTable will have blocker conflicts with the expand/collapse functionality and with existing subTables markup laying on <tbody>'s.

    RF-8635 AjaxBehavior: illegal value exception is thrown for "@region" execute literal value - an unexpected issue assigned to me yesterday. I my opinion this issue is out A2 scope.

RFPL

     RFPL-80 - I have 'How To Develop with RF 4.0" article. It's 80% ready without "How to provide patch" section, but it based on existing build system which will be changed. I'm not sure that I'll complete it to A2 release date.

With assumptions described above I could be ready with  these tasks around May  24 - 28.

That's a bug in a4j:ajax that should be fixed in A2, otherwise we won't be able to use a4j:region & a4j:ajax.

• RFPL-359 - I think should be moved to M1. Anyway we have no time for new components now. So seems could start this investigation later.
• RF-8653 (former RFPL-358) - current demo cases review. Will be done while implementing RF-8290 and will not influence timing.
