jUDDI is a registry - it is configured by default to use hsqldb in JBoss ESB.       You can configure it to use a range of databases, and if you want a good place to start on the various ways of configuring jUDDI within JBoss ESB, I'd start with the ServicesGuide (available in the docs directory).
