Is it not available in list of Perspectives to open through "Window->Open Perspective->Other..."?
Is it broken in some way after restart?
Is it not opened as default after restart?
Are you using nightly/development/stable update site?
Please check Error Log View if there are exceptions.

Dissapear means the perspectives are still available under window-open pespective-other but there are no icons and the view is a standard view, wich means, e.g. the palette in web development perspective is not there.
There are several error messages in error log view:
eclipse.buildId=unknown

Perspective JBoss AS has beed made into a local copyand many more...
This happens also after a clean install (deleting .metadata & .eclipse folders)

I use the stable release.
It seems to me like it's no eclipse problem because this behavior happens also after a clean install of JBoss tools...

maxandersen Jul 9, 2010 4:22 AM (in response to nitram76)The funky.log.zip shows no errors directly connected to JBoss Tools, but it shows errors in Eclipse JDT and net.rim.ejde.A.I.L.A (which I assume is Blackberry Rim plugins).
Any chance you installed other plugins than just JBoss Tools that might cause some problems in combination ?
btw. I would really like to "see" what is going on here - anyone of you that could use Jing or similar to create a screencast of what goes on ?
And as Denis asked, what kind of update is it you are doing ? Mixing stable, dev and nightly updatesites are not recommended.

chromial Jul 9, 2010 4:37 PM (in response to maxandersen)personally, I wasn't installing a new plugin. I upgraded from ganymede to helios and tried to open one of my old projects.
When I googled the error message I found this thread. I was hoping other people had run into this error before and there was some simple fix.
