User & Group Management

Hi,

I am using the default picketlink-idm-config.xml and have created a user group called "CustomersA" and have assigned few new users to this group.

If I give the permission to this group to access the user and group management currently they can view all the gatein users including the administrators and managers.Is there a way I can restrict this user group to view only the members in their group and update their passwords or manage users in within the CustomerA group.

Currently the default user and group management portlet in GateIn does not support such things, that portlet is purposed for administrators only.

is there any limitation in your side to implement a such portlet ?

Well we wish to use the gatein for external customers  and keep the administrators role with in company.  At the same time, wish to have one or group of users from customers to manage their internal users creation and users passwords within gatein.

Guess currently thats not possible within GATEIN and  need to create a portlet for that functionality.

Hi,

I couldn't get the organisation portlet to work as desired. 

Is there a way, that when  I pass the query thru' organisation portlet, I show the user only the users apart from root user details. 

I need to be able to pass the subset of the users details.

Please Help!!

A simple way is to filter users by manually

The root user is configurable and you can achieve it from UserACL#getSuperUser()

1) First you need to achieve the UserHandler from OrganizationService#getUserHandler()

2) Using UserHandler#findAllUsers() to return the list of all users

3) Exclude the root user from the list returned in the step 2
