Out Of Memory- GateIn-3.0.0-GA with JBOSS

Hi

I downloaded the latest file and loaded. I wanted to deploy the portlets created under previous version of GateIn. Deploy was fine, but when I wanted to use either the Portlet or the IFRAME to new page, I got the error Out Of Memory.

If I change the JVM memory allocation, GateIn won't start.

Do I need to do any changes .

Which bundle (tomcat or jboss) are you using?  Can you paste the line where you have updated memory config and any error you see in log during startup.

Hi,

I m using GateIn bundled with JBOSS.

Please find below the attached err.txt & err1.txt.

err.txt file is the screen dump when I get the error, without any changes to the run.conf.bat file.

When I change the "run.conf.bat" file and change the to -XX:MaxPermSize=512M , I get the error as in err1.txt.

Any help/suggestions is appreciated.

Which java version are you using?  Try the latest java 1.6.0_18.

Do you get the "Out of memory" only when you adding your Portlet or IFRAME ?

I'm wondering how does the IFRAME work ?

Doesn't matter when I add Portlets or Iframe, I still get the error.

I didn't have this problem while using Gatein-3.0.0- CR01 or lower version of GateIn.

Will try with different version of Java.Lets see!!

I am currently using the latest version of JAVA 1.6.0_18 for last 3 days. Haven't come across the previous problem. May be the memory error had to do with the version of Java,

I had the same problem with GateIn-3.0.0 and GateIn-3.1.0  (CR01)  (together with JBoss 5.1.0.GA )

The problem was solved when I upgraded my JDK.

At the moment I use 1.6.0_14 and it works fine.

set "JAVA_OPTS=-Xms256M -Xmx512M -XX:MaxPermSize=256M"

in "run.conf.bat"

Since the GateIn 3.0 is deployment on JBoss 5.0 it is important that you have in consideration this information related to the tuning of the JBoss 5, there it indicates you these points.
