migrating to Jboss 5.0 and ESB 4.8

What could be the main benefits of migrating the application from JBoss 4.2.3/ESB 4.4 to JBoss 5.0/ESB 4.8?

and to extend the question, which what particular combination of Jboss AS/ESB after version Jboss 4.2.3/ESB 4.4, respectively gives better performance and functionality?
