Endless loop when scrolling ScrollableDataTable

I am using RichFaces 3.3.3 and when I scroll my scrollableDataTable it often goes into an endless loop where it shows parts of the table.  It sounds like what is described in  https://jira.jboss.org/browse/RF-4431 but that shows it fixed.  I am using IE8 -- it works fine in Firefox.  Any ideas on how to avoid this problem?

need more details. code snippets for page an d for model if you implemented one. ideally sample war file with sources
