How to get current task in EventListener ?

Hi,

I'm doing some experiments with jbpm 4.4 snapshot.

I have a trouble in an EventListener which was working with jbpm 4.3.

My code :

    @Override
    public void notify(EventListenerExecution execution) throws Exception {
        Task task = taskService.createTaskQuery().processInstanceId(execution.getProcessInstance().getId()).uniqueResult();
        if (task == null) {
            logger.warn("No task found for ProcessInstance {}", execution.getProcessInstance().getId());
        } else {
            logger.trace("task name {} ; assignee ", task.getName(),task.getAssignee());
            execution.createVariable(LAST_TASK_ASSIGNEE, task.getAssignee());
        }
    }

Is there a better way to get the current task in a event listener or it is a bug in the trunk ?

Hi Jaber,

In order to achieve delete timeout task,  the task will removed before signaling the activity.  So we cannot get related task from End EventListener.  Please try AssignmentHandler.

Yes, it does a trick.  And this solution comes from one of my friends.

The lack of jbpm4 event listener architecture is the reason for this.  I really want to see a plan for enhance the event listener feature in the future version of jbpm4.

Of course, you are right !

Perhaps some event on variable set

or a before end event...

In an other way, maybe an activity event more specific to activities, because the eventListener is to generic i think

It will help for access to the current activity !
