    WebSockets vs XHR in JSF/RF

    nimo22

Java Server Faces 2 and RF 4 greatly relies and depends on Ajax (XHR) - richfaces consists only of ajax-components.

Is there any plan to go for WebSockets (HTML 5) or at least to provide the possiblity of switching the reRender-Process from "ajax" to "WebSockets". (for example, http://jwebsocket.org/index.htm?page=jws_for_all.htm). Would it be reasonable to use it in a JSF-Project?

We already dsicussed that.. But primary goal - to migrate and stabilize existent 3.3.x components to JSF 2.. So then we could check other directions like mobile and HTML 5 solutions. In other case we will go deeply in development without results for a long time
