1. Re: Seam Tools - Reverse Engineering DB fails with "File pattern not set"
dgolovin Aug 5, 2010 6:26 PM (in response to pizzapill)Do you have M1 or nightly version?
Also would be good to know:
- Seam version
- DB you have (HSQL, MySQL and etc)
- What kind of seam project you have: war or ear
Thanks

pizzapill Aug 5, 2010 7:27 PM (in response to dgolovin)Hi Denis,
i don't have access to my office computer right now but I'll give you all information I remember:
- JBoss Tools should be nightly
- Seam 2.2
- Postgres SQL 8.4
- WAR/EAR (tried both)
I'll give you more exact information when Iam back at work.
You already gave me a good deal of information tough, the issue doesnt seem too common so I guess I could also try a eclipse downgrade to work with a stable JBoss Tools versions?
Thanks for your help!
Edited text because iam such an idiot with english

3. Re: Seam Tools - Reverse Engineering DB fails with "File pattern not set"
pizzapill Aug 6, 2010 8:19 AM (in response to pizzapill)The exact version informations:
Eclipse Helios 20100617-1415
Seam Tools for Eclipse 3.2.0.v20100805-0931-H178-M2
Hibernate Tools for Eclipse 3.3.0.v20100805-0931-H178-M2
PostgreSQL 8.4.1
jboss-seam 2.2.0.GA
Update:
I did manage to get it working using the eclipse galileo release and the stable version of jbos tools. However I did now run into the http://hibernate.jira.com/browse/HBX-1000 ("Problem with PostgreSQL using uppercase letters in tables") issue. Maybe the helios error is just a follow up to this issue. I'd like to create a bug for my issue but I can't find any logs or stacktraces

4. Re: Seam Tools - Reverse Engineering DB fails with "File pattern not set"
definitiverant Aug 10, 2010 9:33 PM (in response to pizzapill)I am getting the same error.
Eclipse Helios 20100617-1415
Seam Tools 3.2.0.v20100726-0929-H108-M2
Hibernate Tools 3.3.0.v20100726-0929-H108-M2
PostgreSQL 8.4
jboss-seam-2.2.1.CR1
I have tried the suggested fix at <https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBDS-507> but it has not worked. The Postgres tables that I am using do not have uppercase letters in their names.

5. Re: Seam Tools - Reverse Engineering DB fails with "File pattern not set"
josecarloscr Aug 18, 2010 9:24 AM (in response to definitiverant)Try to uncheck the "Generic Exporter (<hbmtemplate>)" option at the exporters tab. This solution works for me
Cheerss,
JC.

6. Re: Seam Tools - Reverse Engineering DB fails with "File pattern not set"
definitiverant Aug 18, 2010 4:29 PM (in response to josecarloscr)Thanks for the suggestion. I deselect the "Generic Exporter <hbmtemplate>" setting in Run -> Hibernate Code Generation -> Hibernate Code Generation Configurations -> Exporters and click on "Apply", which it seems happy with. I then try and generate Seam entities again. I get the same error as previously but when I go back and look at the "Generic Exporter <hbmtemplate>" setting, it has been reset - presumably automatically by Helios.

maxandersen Sep 3, 2010 1:59 AM (in response to definitiverant)Please open a jira with exact steps to replicate and screenshots or copies of the full stacktraces as seen on screen and in the error log.
Thanks!
