Difference b/w stopping an application from Admin server and stopping an application using JMX console

    yaserk

We need to stop/start applications (EAR/WAR) deployed in Jboss. Some posts suggested invoking stop() method using JMX but there seems to be a difference between its operation and that where the application is stopped from admin console.

We are more interested in stopping the application which in turn should stop its JVM as well. Is there a way to do this remotely?

Also would like to know a way to remotely get the state of the deployed applications. We have used similar functionality in Weblogic and Oracle AS so hoping that Jboss has such interface too.

Looking for some prompt and helpful replies.

      TIA
