We have a project where we've installed the < rich:dropDownMenu > described here:

...and it no longer meets our needs. The users want a menu that's more customizable and pretty much a different layout altogether.
Are there any alternatives to this very rigid navigation system we could implement? We need something that gives us more control than just changing a few colors, etc.--we really need a different nav layout.
Any suggestions on where we might begin to look for alternatives? Anything else built in that could be leveraged?
