    Cleaning up juddi registry

    massios

      Hello everyone,

I have got another question that partly relates to the previous question about what happens when a server is down at the juddi registry.

      See thread (http://community.jboss.org/thread/157297?tstart=0).

Is there a way to automatically remove invalid entries from the registry?

Problem 1. Each time the server starts it puts new entries to the registry for the same services. This eventually fills up the registry with entries to the same services. So far we are cleaing the registry with ub but this adds an extra administration task.

Problem 2. When a server is down the registry has the links to the the server that is down meaning that the service invoker can direct the calls to the server that is down. This is related to thread I mentioned before (http://community.jboss.org/thread/157297?tstart=0).

There was already a discussion of this issue I think in

      http://community.jboss.org/message/508479

And a JIRA issue that stayed unresolved I guess

      https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBESB-2185

A solution proposed here is very brute force and doesn't work on a cluster and in conjuction with problem2.

      Any ideas?
