here is some further explanation:
i have a list of objects displayed in a rich datatable. i want to perform several actions on those objects via a context menu. for this i need to get ahold of the selected object in the backing bean action (or actionlistener).
im looking for code that can easily implemented on all my pages and that doesnt need a database query.

yes, i have seen that. it seems as if i can only pass properties via parameters and not objects.
i have a list of hibernate objects and instead of passing the object itself i have to pass the id and retrieve the object by accessing the java list or the database. i was wondering if there is an easier way of doing it (in the rich:table i can access the java object from the external application context as written in one of my earlier posts).
