1. Re: Hibernate & Jboss cache integration
galder.zamarreno Oct 11, 2010 1:15 PM (in response to sxopi1)For future ref, see:
http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/core/3.5/reference/en/html_single/#performance-querycache-enable
Btw, if you're using Hibernate 3.5 or higher, I'd recommend using Infinispan as 2LC instead. It's much faster, easier to configure

sxopi1 Oct 13, 2010 3:46 AM (in response to galder.zamarreno)Thank you for the link on ref, I've looked over it. And again it says, that you have to manually set your query cachable. It's understandable. But what with entities cache?
Does annotation @Cache on entities is used only to specify caching transaction type/region etc., but it cannot turn on cachable feature for them?
BTW, Jboss cache is selected by the customer. Can you use it in clustered transactional production env?

3. Re: Hibernate & Jboss cache integration
galder.zamarreno Oct 22, 2010 11:40 AM (in response to sxopi1)Not for queries. Queries have to be set manually with setCacheable(). Entities and collections need to have @Cache annotation or define it via XML.
Re: JBoss Cache and 2LC
Of course you can, AS 5 does that for EJB3 entities without major problems
