Rich faces live update

I want to create something like a panel at the bottom of my application (just like facebook) and display information like (who is online,new messages etc)...how can I implement something like this...I mean how can I update every few seconds an outputText getting value from #{mybean.value} ie...or update the outputText when this value is changed...
