1. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
rob.stryker Apr 26, 2010 5:17 AM (in response to antonylees)In JBossTools, right-clicking any Dynamic Web Project and running it on a JBoss server (so long as it is a JBoss Tools server adapter) should default to deploying unzipped.
Only if you double-click on the server to modify it's publishing properties can you select a check-box to deploy zipped.

2. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
antonylees Apr 26, 2010 5:25 AM (in response to rob.stryker)I want to deploy a specific set of files though, not the whole project (the project is a legacy one and is bit of a mess. So what I'm hoping for is to easily deploy an ant-built folder that contains the right files (unless there is a better way?)

rob.stryker Apr 26, 2010 7:39 AM (in response to antonylees)1 of 1 people found this helpfulWhat you're looking to use are our "Project Archives" tools. You can start by opening the Project Archives view, then in the Package Explorer, select your project.
Then back in the Project Archives view, right-click your project, and create a new jar configuration. You can add folders or filesets to this. It is built incrementally after workspace changes and is very fast, but may take a little while to get used to.
It can also be easily deployed to a server.

maxandersen Apr 26, 2010 7:51 AM (in response to rob.stryker)Rob, what actually prevents us from having Make deployable work for a folder as it does for single files today ?

5. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
rob.stryker Apr 26, 2010 8:08 AM (in response to maxandersen)I would need to make a new module factory, primarily. The current module factories are not suitable. (ESB module factory is based on hte WTP ones, SingleFileDeployable is extremely simple and is understood as a binary module which only has one member. And project archives factory is obviously custom suited to project archives).
So yeah, it probably would not be complicated but would require a new factory and some testing

6. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
antonylees Apr 26, 2010 8:13 AM (in response to rob.stryker)I'd already tried the Project Archives tools, but it would be great to see deployable folders as a new feature of JBoss Tools

7. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
maxandersen Apr 26, 2010 1:13 PM (in response to antonylees)How if Make Deployable on a folder were simply a shortcut to create a Project Archive that contains a single fileset grabbing that directory with a single fileset ?

8. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
maxandersen Apr 26, 2010 1:14 PM (in response to maxandersen)hmm..I guess that doesn't really work since project archives want to copy that fileset "somewhere"...

9. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
antonylees Nov 9, 2010 5:00 AM (in response to maxandersen)So is that a 'no' then? Or shall I raise a feature request for it?

10. Re: Deploy exploded war in JBoss Tools
maxandersen Nov 10, 2010 5:19 AM (in response to antonylees)No, it is not a no, see http://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBIDE-7324
Already implemented and usable in nightly builds.
