setShowWhenRendered API not hiding the dialog

Hi

I am using richfaces modelPanel along with the close button. when close button is clicked I need to close the dialog in other words hide it. I am calling setShowWhenRendered(false) API to hide the modelPanel.
I see an strange behaviour the modelPanel is hiding for some time and coming back again.

Any inputs are highly appreciated. Interesting thing is in debug mode it works fine.

At first I'm wondering why you not using our JS API? call it on onclick if you need to just close the window on the client or use oncomplete of the ajax component if it should be closed after some request.

there is few panels used in different combinations (including calling the modal from the modal)
