salaboy21 Nov 28, 2010 9:18 AM (in response to odelyaholiday)Hi, yes I've created a community training course of jBPM5.
Greetings

hifly81 Nov 28, 2010 1:19 PM (in response to hifly81)Meanwhile you can read the docs about drools flow
http://downloads.jboss.com/drools/docs/5.1.1.34858.FINAL/drools-flow/html_single/index.html
drools flow = jbpm5

eschabell Nov 29, 2010 2:53 AM (in response to hifly81)But I was under the impression that Drools Flow != jBPM 5... or does it?

5. Re: jbpm5 training courses
hifly81 Nov 29, 2010 6:03 AM (in response to eschabell)Honestly i don't see any differences... I hope someone will contradict myself

6. Re: jbpm5 training courses
salaboy21 Nov 29, 2010 8:20 AM (in response to hifly81)Yes.. it was made based on both project experiencies, but starting from the scratch is never easy/a good option. I think if you browse jBPM4 and Alfresco Activity you will find similarities as well, at least in functionality.
Greetings.

camunda Nov 29, 2010 8:32 AM (in response to salaboy21)Just to be correct: It is named "Activiti" and it is not an alfresco-only project but with a combined effort of a couple of team members :-)
But that is indeed interessting, so jBPM 5 is really based on DroolsFlow? I thought as well that it is a new code base inspired by both projects... Have to have a look into it asap, too less time all the time :-/
Cheers
Bernd

8. Re: jbpm5 training courses
hifly81 Nov 29, 2010 8:54 AM (in response to camunda)When i wrote jbpm5 = drools flow it wasn't a bad critique. I think drools flow is a good project; what I hope for jbpm5 is a good integration with jboss esb and the developing of new built-in nodes (connector). And I think jbpm5 must be integrated with a jboss bam solution

9. Re: jbpm5 training courses
odelyaholiday Nov 29, 2010 11:02 AM (in response to hifly81)Hi!
I am confused.
So the only advantage of jBPM5 is the server integration? what about the BPMN2.0 and the execution language?

10. Re: jbpm5 training courses
salaboy21 Nov 29, 2010 11:10 AM (in response to odelyaholiday)I'm not sure to understand your question.
In jBPM5 you can express and execute your processes using the BPMN2.0 notation and execution semantics.

11. Re: jbpm5 training courses
odelyaholiday Nov 29, 2010 11:16 AM (in response to salaboy21)So how do you execute them in Drools?
-
12. Re: jbpm5 training courses
salaboy21 Nov 29, 2010 11:27 AM (in response to odelyaholiday)You load the xml representation of the processes and then you can execute them using the APIs. As in any BPMS framework. I think that it's all explained in the Drools Flow Documentation and in the jBPM5 doc too -> https://hudson.jboss.org/hudson/job/jBPM5/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/target/jbpm-5.0-SNAPSHOT-docs-build/jbpm-docs/html/index.html
Greetings

odelyaholiday Nov 29, 2010 11:39 AM (in response to salaboy21)I am confused again.Mauricio - if you are pointing out that in jBPM5 I can use BPMN2.0, what is the equivalent in Drools Flow?
-
14. Re: jbpm5 training courses
salaboy21 Nov 29, 2010 11:43 AM (in response to odelyaholiday)You can use BPMN2.0 in both.. they practically offer the same features. In Drools Flow you also have a more project related language called RuleFlow but right now the defacto language is BPMN2.0.
