4. Re: rich:simpleTogglePanel - opened ignored after user selec
tri77ion Apr 8, 2009 4:13 PM (in response to tri77ion)Tested further on 3.3.0.GA and this is still an issue even when using opened="#{false}" (i.e. no backing bean binding).
Upgraded to 3.3.1.BETA3 and got slightly different results. Using opened="#{false}" returns the following error in the log when clicking Show/Hide:sourceId=myForm:myTogglePanel[severity=(ERROR 2), summary=(/sandbox/togglePanel.xhtml @16,83 opened="#{false}": Illegal Syntax for Set Operation), detail=(/sandbox/togglePanel.xhtml @16,83 opened="#{false}":Illegal Syntax for Set Operation)]
Swapped opened="#{toggleBean.opened}" back in and got the following error when clicking Show/Hide:/sandbox/togglePanel.xhtml @16.95 opened="#{toggleBean.opened}": Property 'opened' not writable on type boolean
Realized the setter was missing so added it. Got the following error when clicking Show/Hide:/sandbox/togglePanel.xhtml @16,95 opened="#{toggleBean.opened}": java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: argument type mismatch
I changed my ToggleBean to use a String "true"/"false" instead of boolean and everything works as expected. So it seems that 3.3.1BETA3 has almost fixed the problem, except that it expects a String in the opened value binding and not a boolean. I'll JIRA this unless I hear otherwise. -

ishchibrya Apr 9, 2009 5:35 AM (in response to tri77ion)Hello, tri77ion!
Thanks for your message. Actually this problem takes place . Now this issue in Jira: https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/RF-6737.
But if you want to use "false" or "true" values for "opened" attribute, syntax should be: opened="false" or opened="true".
Best regards, Inna Shchibrya. -

jsf_joe Dec 9, 2010 11:37 AM (in response to tri77ion)Facing same problem when simpleTogglePanel is used in a template(using facelet templating).
Works fine when used without template.
