1. Re: Jboss AS with second level cache on remote server
galder.zamarreno Dec 20, 2010 7:05 AM (in response to sstone53)Hmmm, what is the point of this exercise?
Do you want to access the 2LC cache via a Remote Hot Rod client? If so, that might troublesome for the reasons explained in http://community.jboss.org/wiki/InteractingWithHotRodServerFromWithinSameJVM
Do you want to store some data via a Remote Hot Rod client and then get the 2LC cache to access it? Again, you'd have issues due to http://community.jboss.org/wiki/InteractingWithHotRodServerFromWithinSameJVM
The thing is that Hot Rod server stores data in byte[] whereas 2LC stores data with POJOs. The 2LC code is not ready to read data put by a Hot Rod client, and viceversa.
Also, the point of the 2LC is to make remote data easier and quicker to access and that comes from accessing it via Hibernate. So, it only makes sense to replicate the 2LC to a place where Hibernate can access it. Are you gonna be running Hibernate within the Infinispan Cache Server??
