atijms Nov 16, 2010 10:56 AM (in response to jaikiran)I did notice that JBoss AS 6 CR1 was supposed to be released yesterday (see https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBAS, it actually says "6.0.0.CR1 Release Date: Yesterday", but 10 issues still seem to be open.
However, when I go to http://www.jboss.org/jbossas/downloads/ it also doesn't seem to be there. Is there any new date planned for CR1? If 17Th of December is still the date for the GA, isn't the testing period between CR and GA too short then?

The tag has been created for CR1. Testing is in progress. The new date for CR1 is November 19th. See this for details http://community.jboss.org/wiki/AS600CR1StatusExecutiveSummary

atijms Nov 22, 2010 9:54 AM (in response to jaikiran)Sorry to ask again, but I just don't see the CR1 version at the download page. Is there a special mirror I need to use or has CR1 still not been released?
edit: or maybe I'm just too impatient. I noticed the executive summary says: "Update: November 22, 2010". It's November 22 now, but because of the time zone differences it's still rather early at your place I guess I'll check again tomorrow.

jaikiran Nov 23, 2010 12:36 AM (in response to henk53)By the way, please start using this new version and make sure your report any issues that you encounter. That will help us in getting a stable and better 6.0 Final.

oranheim Nov 23, 2010 10:04 AM (in response to jaikiran)Here's a summary of my experience moving from M4 to CR1 using JPA/Weld/Seam3:
http://seamframework.org/Community/ExperienceWithJBoss6CR1WeldAndSeam3
Overall, I'm pleased and thanks a lot to the JBoss team. My app got around 50-ish entities with a lot of associations. The performance is by far much better great.
What I look forward to see is upgraded Weld/Seam3 modules aligned with CR1.

asiandub Nov 25, 2010 11:41 AM (in response to oranheim)Hi Ove,
thanks a million for sharing your issues. I'm just about to do the same task (M4 -> CR1), and I'm more than happy to use your stuff as a base.
:-)
Cheers from snowy Switzerland,

9. Re: Jboss 6 Final Version
dthompsn Dec 3, 2010 12:01 PM (in response to javigs82)I had been awaiting AS 6.0CR1 to start doing some testing as we're ready to upgrade ASAP to the new server. However, now I'm wondering if there is going to be a CR2? I have 3 bugs that stop me from even deploying nice old steady Struts 1.3 WAR apps ( JBAS-8659 (has a work around), JBAS-8569 (has been resolved but not in CR1) and JBAS-8701). So how can I test any further if I can't even deploy these.
After I tried the webapp, I then tried deploying our Axis2 container for our older Soap Webservices and immediatly blew up AS 6 all together. Class loading issues everywhere. So are we going to have another CR release?

Are you sure it's https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBAS-8569?

I'm not sure about this one. It's been marked as TBD (to be decided). Out of curiosity how is it affecting your application?

Please create a separate thread with all the relevant details, including the exception stacktrace. Most of the times, with classloader issues, it's a matter of fixing/configuring the deployment.

dthompsn Dec 3, 2010 12:33 PM (in response to jaikiran)Sorry that should have been 8659. Transposed the numbers.
For 8701, you'll notice that the issue was opened by me. The problem with it affecting my application is that we can't render any jsp pages that contain a <c:forEach> jstl tag in them (which is just killer for old Struts apps). Of course I sort of have a work around, but if the app server can't load the jstl.jar file from within the WAR, what's to say its going to load other jars (which I know its loading some--otherwise I wouldn't be able to run the app at all). I will try and go down the Axis rabbit hole and see what I can do to write up a JIRA.

dthompsn Dec 3, 2010 1:20 PM (in response to jaikiran)Wow, I'm having a really bad day!
I have also added JBAS-8711 for the deployment/class loading issue with Axis2 v1.5.3.
