1. Re: Getting "no tag was defined for name" on rich and a4j tags
jchansen Dec 8, 2010 10:29 AM (in response to dbastos)I'm facing something like that, discussion http://community.jboss.org/message/551923#551923
I'll try separator tag to see if the problem occurs...

2. Re: Getting "no tag was defined for name" on rich and a4j tags
jchansen Dec 8, 2010 10:39 AM (in response to jchansen)Well, it's not the same problem, 'separator' works for me, in both jsp and xhtml, at least on RF 3.3.3
Anyway, take a look at the previous discussion, maybe it helps you.

3. Re: Getting "no tag was defined for name" on rich and a4j tags
dbastos Dec 8, 2010 11:16 AM (in response to jchansen)Thanks for the reply.
I haven't noticed if no tags work or only a few but at least a4j:keepAlive, a4j:commandButton and rich:separator don't.
I've added
<context-param><param-name>javax.faces.DISABLE_FACELET_JSF_VIEWHANDLER</param-name><param-value>true</param-value></context-param><context-param>
<param-name>javax.faces.DISABLE_FACELET_JSF_VIEWHANDLER</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</context-param>
To web.xml and now the error is gone but the page displays only the title and everything which is <rich: (or inside of it) is not displayed at all.
So I've added to web.xml<context-param><param-name>org.ajax4jsf.VIEW_HANDLERS</param-name><param-value>com.sun.facelets.FaceletViewHandler</param-value></context-param>And still everything inside <rich: tags is not rendered.I'll keep trying to mess around and be sure to let you know if I manage to get over this. -
4. Re: Getting "no tag was defined for name" on rich and a4j tags
glasfeu Dec 9, 2010 5:44 AM (in response to dbastos)Hi,
I'm getting the same error when I'm using a4:form with RF 4 M4 and JBoss AS 6 CR1 :
Tag Library supports namespace: http://richfaces.org/a4j, but no tag was defined for name: form
RF is imported by Maven with the richfaces-bom.
Should we open a JIRA ?

5. Re: Getting "no tag was defined for name" on rich and a4j tags
jchansen Dec 10, 2010 8:13 AM (in response to glasfeu)I've got a working configuration. Still couldn't analyse it, but for now I can continue my job.
I have placed jsf-facelets-1.1.15.jar on my libs and used a simplified version of web.xml that comes with sample WAR file (http://community.jboss.org/wiki/RichFaces333andJSF20). No changes in faces-config.xml. File attached.
I guess the problem is something related to mapping/suffix/ViewHandler but not sure. In Eclipse I've made a full rebuild and everything worked.
Good luck.
