Using single set of binaries for multiple server configurati

Is it possible to launch multiple instances of a JBossAS 5 server that use different deployments without having to making multiple copies of the $JBOSS_HOME/server/default directory?

I would like to avoid the overhead of replicating the conf,lib,lib-opt, deployers directories which would all be identical in each server. And hopefully avoid having to apply fixpacks to potentially hundreds of JBoss server instances on a box.

No, it is not possible. But take heart, in subversion trunk almost all of the files in server/xxx/lib have been moved to common/lib. This change will show up in GA.
