    upstream patches handled how?

    jjfraney

Not sure how to phrase the question, but what would be a fair expectation about a jbossws-cxf release on the occasion of a point release from the upstream source (from apache, for example)?

Or, another way of asking the question: If cxf posts a point release, can I expect a new release of jbossws-cxf (and what would be a fair turnaround), or should I plan to build and test jbossws-cxf from source with the cxf dependency changed?

      Thanks.

Generally speaking, we try to install the latest point release available from Apache CXF in each JBossWS-CXF release. For instance, we're currently on Apache CXF 2.3.1 and we'll use 2.3.2, 2.3.3 or what is available, in next JBossWS-CXF release (unless some really non backward-compatible changes are in those point releases, which is really unlikely given the "definition" of point releases). Upgrades to major Apache CXF version might take a bit more time.

Speaking of the timing of JBossWS-CXF releases, minor releases should be expected approximately within a 8 week period, while major ones (JBossWS-CXF 4.0 is definitely one of them...) takes much more time of course.
