AS 6 jmx deployment

I tried to deploy an EAR through the JMX MainDeployer bean by invoking the "deploy" method but the only thing the deployer does is to log:

13:35:48,843 INFO [MainDeployer:358] deploy, url=file:/C:/path_to_my_ear

and nothing is really deployed.

Is it normal or a bug?

However, the "hard deploy" method (droping the archine in deploy dir) works fine.
