Validation - custom messages

Could anyone tell me how to change the default validation messages? In my case I not only have to change the message depending on language, but also depending on user settings.

A quantity field needs to validate as a positive integer (including zero).

1) if you are using your own custom validators it won't be a big problem =)

2) JSF contains a good mechanism for localization:
