Problem styling h:input

I know this might be an easy question, but bear with me. I've tried using an external CSS and even an XCSS style embedded in the skin file. Nothing works. The global styles (those defined within textarea[type="textarea"], input[type="text"], input[type="password"], select ) are loaded after my custom style, thus overriding it. What I'm trying to do is replace the input gradient with a color. I'm using Richfaces 3.3.0. Thank you.

Solved it! Wrapped the input in a a4j:outputPanel, gave it a class of "inputWrapper", then applied the desired input style for all input controls inside it, the CSS code being something like ".inputWrapper input".
