We have been a user of Envers for ~18 months and recently upgraded to Hibernate 3.6 for a variety of reasons, including the read/write expression feature that it offers to satisfy data encryption requirements for our application. Upon initial testing and analysis it appears that Envers is not honoring the read/write expressions that we have defined within our Hibernate XML mapping files.
Does anyone know if Envers supports the read/write feature at this time for entity mappings defined in Hibernate XML files? If not, I would like to hear any suggestions on how to overcome this in the near term, aside from not auditing our encrypted data columns.
