lope Jan 27, 2011 2:33 PM (in response to panky_p)I see same behavior even on the RichFaces live demo (using IE7):

Downloading picture ... lasts forever. Attaching screenshot:
Does anyone know the reason?

2. Re: Downloading picture message shown on IE 8
dnorris Jan 28, 2011 9:09 AM (in response to lope)I have the same problem. IE also endlessly waits for the download to finish, spinning the icon, keeping the hourglass.
I tried partial refresh of the Upload and/or the enclosing form.
Also tried h:form and a4j:form with various settings.
The only way to get rid of it is to reload the whole page by browser refresh or standard form submit.
I refuse to do a regular form submit! It's too nasty with IE complaining incessantly about reposting form data.
However, if I use a4j:support event="onuploadcomplete" reRender="result, upload" to refresh the FileUpload component the add file will re-enable.
Then the stuck behavior only happens the first time.
I suspect some hidden field needs to be read and it has no value until after the first upload.
