JBDS: Always re-publishes in debug mode instead of hot swapping

I have an EAR project published via JBDS.  When I have started the server in debug mode and make even a minor change to a Stateful Season Bean and select Ctrl+S to save the changes, my ear is republished (all the ejbs are stopped and restarted and the war file is re-launched).

Is there a process JBDS goes through to determine if a save requires a re-publish verse a debug hotswap?  I can turn off automatic publishing but then I can't get xhtml file changes to push through.

Hi, as I know hot deploy have some limitations, see this thread http://community.jboss.org/message/573600#573600 . I am not sure that hot deploy in JBoss Tools works for changes in  Stateful Season Bean.

which version of JBDS and what version of JBoss are you running ?

I am using JBDS 3.0 and the jboss-eap 5.0.0 GA it comes with.

Saving should simply just copy changed files - we aren't (knowingy) forcefully causing  a full redeploy.

Can you see which files get copied/changed when the restart kicks in ?
