Version 2.0.0.M3 of the tools has been released which now (hopefully) include all of the changes to the protocol notation, as discussed in the development thread: http://community.jboss.org/message/573251#573251
This release also includes a 'simple validator' example, that can be used as a template for creating specific validation modules that can simply be plugged in to the tools (as they are just OSGi bundles).
The tools can be downloaded as a command line version, with docs and samples, from the Downloads page. It is also possible to just install the tools into Eclipse using the update site (URL on the Downloads page also). The documentation is also available from the Documentation page.
Please feel free to try the tools and provide feedback. Any issues can be recorded in jira.
