How to export nodes using CRaSH SCP protocol ?

Reading the forum, the post, http://community.jboss.org/message/561004#561004 speaks about the CRaSH console for acessing the JCR through the command line interface. It doese work ok and We sucessfully managed to install int in GateIN, access it though telnet and ssh, list nodes etc ...

Now, the CRaSH documentation speaks about exporting nodes with the SCP protocol

'scp -P 2000 root@localhost:portal:portal-system:/production/app:gadgets . '

We tried that with CRaSH  1.0.0-beta17

Documentation says that CRaSH password is 'crash' so this is what we entered as password when the SCP asks it. unfortunatly the SCP command returns immediatly with a :

'Connection to localhost closed by remote host.' message

And no data is copied

Any Ideas ?

You should use 'gtn' as the password when running this for GateIn, however there seems to be an issue with the scp command for CRaSH.  I have confirmed this locally for both beta-17 and trunk.

The service provider config file org.crsh.term.sshd.scp.CommandPlugin should be renamed to org.crsh.ssh.term.scp.CommandPlugin under META-INF/services.  I have created a JIRA @ https://jira.exoplatform.org/browse/CRASH-22.  My guess is this is the root cause of your problem.

The other issue I found is that my scp command appends "--" as an argument before the files, and CRaSH errors out to do parsing issues.  This is valid getopt sytax on Unix/Linux machines and have created a JIRA for this as well @ https://jira.exoplatform.org/browse/CRASH-23.

You can either build from source and apply these changes or use the version I have attached until CRaSH is updated.  Note the version attached was built from trunk.

Let me know if this fixes your issues.

I tested this SNAPSHOT, telnet is working OK , but now SCP returns a

'no hostkey alg'

Not sure, did you restart the server ?  You can always build from http://crsh.googlecode.com/svn/tags/1.0.0-beta17/ and rename the file.

Its ok now, restarting the whole stuff did the trick, I sucesfully exported with SCP the root of the JCR, What should I export If I want to move one JCR from one machine to an other ? Is the Root ok ?
