ExtendedDataModel: SequenceRange rows is 0

I was experimenting with ExtendedDataModel and discovered that if the <rich:extendedDataTable> tag does not have a rows attribute, the walk method receives a range with firstRow=0 and rows=0

Is this supposed to happen?
